Summer is here. You don't have time for noise.

Event organisers are entering the busiest season of the year. You should be planning your duty of care, not wading through contradictory advice, opportunistic sales pitches, and scaremongering posts. Unfortunately, that's exactly what's happening right now around Martyn's Law.

📢

Misinformation everywhere

LinkedIn is full of contradictory takes. Some are well-intentioned, some opportunistic, most are wrong. It's hard to tell them apart.

💸

Premature sales pitches

Companies are already selling "Martyn's Law compliance" services despite the Section 27 guidance not yet being published. Even the SIA says: don't spend money yet.

⚠️

Venues cancelling events

Some organisations are cancelling longstanding events out of fear and confusion — the exact opposite of what Martyn's Law is designed to achieve.

Your monthly single source of truth.

We do the reading so you don't have to. Every month, we distill the most important updates from the official sources and expert industry voices into one short, easy-to-read newsletter. That's it.

  • Only official sources

SIA bulletins, ProtectUK publications, .gov announcements, and verified industry expert webinars. No random LinkedIn hot takes.

  • Short and scannable

Designed for busy event professionals. 5 to 8 minutes to read. Skim the headlines or go deep — your choice.

  • Free, forever

No paywall. No upsell. No sales pitches hidden between the lines. Just the information you need to do your job well.

Frequently asked.

How often will I hear from you?
Once a month. That's it. No daily digests, no promotional blasts, no "limited time offers." One edition each month from now until April 2027. If a major announcement drops that can't wait, we may send a brief update — but that's rare and only when it really matters.
Is this a sales pitch for SafetyDocs?
No. The Countdown exists because misinformation around Martyn's Law is distracting event organisers from their actual jobs. We produce it as a public service. We'll mention SafetyDocs once in the footer — that's the extent of it. Our goal is for you to feel informed and calm, not sold to.
Who is this for?
Anyone responsible for a venue or event that falls within the scope of Martyn's Law — whether Standard Tier (200+) or Enhanced Tier (800+). That includes venue managers, safety officers, event directors, compliance leads, local authority licensing teams, places of worship, schools, and universities.
What makes this different from other newsletters?
We only use official sources: the SIA, ProtectUK, .gov, and verified industry expert webinars (like ISRM). We don't publish opinion as fact. We don't recycle LinkedIn speculation. We don't sell services hidden as advice. Every link we share goes back to an authoritative source you can verify yourself.
Will you share my email address?
Never. Your email stays with us and is used only to deliver The Countdown. You can unsubscribe with one click at any time, and we'll delete your data on request. Full details in our privacy policy.
What happens after April 2027?
The Countdown ends at Edition #1 — the final issue in March 2027, just before enforcement begins. After that, we may continue with a different format, but you'll be given the choice. No automatic enrolment into anything else.
