ECM What's New: time an automation to the exact date it's needed

May 22, 2026

Here's what actually happens with event automations: you want a balance reminder six weeks before the event, or a licence check to run on a fixed date, and the tool makes you bolt on a separate step just to tell it which date to count from. Miss that step and the timing silently breaks.

That workaround is gone. The wait step in ECM automations can now hold until a specific date and time on its own. Point it at the event date, a balance-due date or a renewal date, and it waits to exactly that moment, with nothing else to configure.

It also handles recurring waits now: daily, weekly or yearly. A weekly supplier check or an annual licence review runs on its own cadence without you rebuilding the logic each time.

For teams whose automations run to real dates, this is fewer moving parts and one less thing to get wrong.
